Dillon Open 2007

Dillon Open 2007 (These photos are from '06). We were not fortunate to have such lovely weather... but we had a great time and finished about 5th (final results not in yet). Not too shabby for a relatively new crew to a wild weathered mountain lake!

Headed up I-70...

What a strange sensation going through the tunnel with a 2-ton boat - "to where?" asked all the drivers checking us out along the way...

Finally, in the slip at Dillon Yacht Club - gorgeous views, gorgeous weather - so far...

Day 1 was warm weather without much wind, but it was a beautiful day! Great races, too!

Mike and Jim made sure to promote the Denver Sailing Association's Governor's Cup the last weekend in September!

Our Boulder fan club made sure to make a scene or two at the luau

We were all smiles at this point in the evening (it was still early!)

The next day was a bit cooler with a chance of a marble storm...

Megan hid from those pesky marbles falling from the sky

Patrick tried to keep a smile on his face to hide the bruises from those marbles on his noggin

Here you can see Mike and Nick working their way back to the marina in the lightning and marble-sized hail storm
Wow! What a way to spend a beautiful August afternoon in Dillon, Colorado!

Patrick, Matt, Nick, and Mike all survived the storm (Megan taking the photo). We had a wonderful regatta (lightning, hail, rain, sun, and LACK of wind). Can't wait for J-24 Districts coming up in September!
